How to Successfully and Safely Roast Pumpkin Seeds
Roasted Pumpkin Seeds
Ingredients:
* 1 pumpkin
* Olive Oil
* Salt - Sea Salt preferred
* Soy Sauce - sweet or regular to taste
* Chili Powder - if needed to add spicy hot taste
- Directions:
- Prepare pumpkin for decorative use over the Halloween or Thanksgiving holiday. These links can help you with Halloween Pumpkin Carving Patterns or Thanksgiving Pumpkin Carving Patterns.
- Make sure the pumpkin seeds are NOT washed in any way after removal from your pumpkin. Washing will ruin the seeds for roasting.
- Spread the pumpkin seeds on a baking tray.
- Sprinkle the pumpkin seeds freely with olive oil, salt and the soy sauce of your choice. Make certain the seeds are all covered.
- Lightly sprinkle chili powder to taste. It does not take much so beware.
- Roast at 375 degrees F for 20 minutes, or until nicely browned and crispy. You may want, at the 2/3 time point to pull the tray, be careful - it's hot, and toss the seeds so that both sides will be browned.
- When time is up - take out of oven and let sit to cool down a bit.
