Green Bean Casserole

This has to be one of the most simple recipes ever devised. It also is one of the best tasting casseroles you can make for every day. Because it is so easy, it's great for holiday means at Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. The simplicity of this great tasting casserole is really appreciated when you have a big meal to prepare.

Ingredients

- 1 10oz can condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 4 cups cooked green beans
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 1/3 cups French fried onions

Preparation Instructions

Mix Soup, Milk and Pepper in a 1 1/2 quart casserole dish. Stir in beans and 2/3 cup of the fried onions. Bake for about 25 minutes at 350 degrees F.  Top with the remaining 2/3 cup fried onions and bake about 5 more minutes, until the onions are lightly browned.

This recipe serves 6 people.
You can make multiples of this recipe without worry. It keeps in the fridge, ready after simple warm up for serving for several days.

Alternative Ways to Serve Green Beans
Green Beans with Golden Raisins, from Martha Stewart. Ok, these have neither onions or mushrooms, but they're simple and feel like they'd fit right in with a Thanksgiving meal.

Fried Green Bean Bundles, from Paula Deen. The beans are tied with a green onion, so you get a smidge of that taste, and then they're battered and fried for crunch. Labor-intensive, yes, but you could prepare everything else and leave these as the last thing you do.

Greek-Style Braised Green Beans, from the Kitchn. With onions, tomatoes, and a hint of cinnamon.
