Great Mashed Potatoes Recipe - Potato Puffs


Mashed potato puffs are just one of many ways to serve potato. Mashed potatoes are made by mashing freshly-boiled (peeled or unpeeled), or sometimes baked, potatoes with a ricer, fork or potato masher.

Frozen or Dehydrated mashed potatoes are also available, but this recipe works best with fresh potatoes. Not every kind of potato makes good mashed potatoes. The type of potato that has a floury texture works best.

List of Ingredients :

9 potatoes, peeled and cubed or unpeeled - your choice
6 ozs plain cream cheese
1 cup sour cream
2 teaspoons powdered onion
1 teaspoon salt – sea salt the best
1/4 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
2 tablespoons – real butter

Directions and Procedure

-Bring to boil, a large pot of salted water. Cook potatoes until tender yet still having firmness. This takes about 15 minutes.

-Transfer the potatoes to a large bowl, then mash until smooth. Combine with the cream cheese, sour cream, salt, onion powder, pepper and real butter. Cover and refrigerate for 8 hours at least.

- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, which is equal to 175 degrees C. Grease a medium baking dish lightly.

-Spread mixture with the potato into the baking dish. Spread evenly or in balls 2 inch apart. Baste with melted butter after 20 minutes. Bake for about 30 minutes after the oven is preheated.
